Pepsi has teamed up with cosmetics brand Glamlite on a body care collection that turns two of the soda brand's flavor profiles into shower products. The lineup includes a Pepsi Wild Cherry Body Wash and a Pepsi Vanilla Slushie Body Scrub, each priced at $12 and available through TikTok Shop beginning July 31.
The Wild Cherry Body Wash is a 16.9-ounce product formulated with niacinamide, shea butter, and a fruit acid complex, according to Dexerto. The Vanilla Slushie Body Scrub combines mineral exfoliants and glycerin in a foaming sugar scrub format. Both products are scented to match their respective Pepsi flavors.
The collection also includes two Pepsi Lip Kits in Vanilla and Wild Cherry, each containing lip liner, lipstick, and lip gloss, according to Allrecipes.
According to Foodbeast, Glamlite founder Giselle Hernandez said the development process involved vetting more than 300 product samples and reviewing upward of 3,000 fragrance candidates before arriving at the final two scents. Hernandez said on Instagram that the collaboration was something she had been "dreaming about for years," according to Dexerto. Foodbeast reported that Pepsi approached Glamlite to initiate the partnership.
For Glamlite, the release marks the brand's first venture into body care. The company had built its reputation on branded makeup partnerships with entertainment and pop culture properties such as Barbie, Scream, and Twilight, according to Allrecipes. A Pepsi-inspired makeup collection is already in development, according to Foodbeast.
The collaboration arrives as PepsiCo $PEP reported softer-than-expected North American beverage performance in its most recent quarter, with the beverages unit recording a 4% volume decline. Chief Executive Ramon Laguarta cited tightening consumer budgets as a factor weighing on domestic results.
Consumer reaction to the Pepsi x Glamlite announcement has been divided, with some fans expressing enthusiasm on social media and others questioning whether they want to smell like soda, according to Dexerto. One commenter on an Instagram post about the launch wrote, "Cherry Pepsi is my literal favorite thing. TAKE MY MONEY," according to Allrecipes.
