A South Korean YouTuber was arrested on charges including spreading false information after police accused him of using artificial intelligence to fabricate audio evidence against actor Kim Soo-hyun, according to The New York Times.
Charges against Kim Se-ui center on allegations that he manipulated text messages and used AI to manufacture a voice recording in order to advance claims that the actor had been romantically involved with an actress while she was still underage. Kim Se-ui's Hover Lab channel is known for sensational content about public figures in entertainment and politics. Speaking to reporters outside the courthouse, Kim Se-ui rejected the allegations and maintained that a government body, the National Forensic Service, had confirmed the audio recording was genuine. He called the warrant groundless, saying it was "clearly based on falsities," according to The Times.
