Sprite is launching a new peach tea-flavored soda exclusively at Kroger stores this summer. The drink, called Sprite + Tea Peach, will be sold in regular and zero-sugar versions across the entire Kroger family of supermarket chains, according to TheStreet.

The new flavor combines Sprite's lemon-lime foundation with peach tea, and like its predecessor in the Sprite + Tea line, it takes on a warm amber hue instead of the colorless look typical of regular Sprite. It will be available while supplies last as a limited-time release, though Sprite has not confirmed an end date, according to Allrecipes.

Sprite + Tea Peach builds on the earlier Sprite + Tea, a 2025 release that traced its origins to a viral online craze in which drinkers dropped a tea bag directly into a bottle of Sprite. Strong consumer response to the original Sprite + Tea led Coca-Cola $KO to revive it this season while simultaneously introducing the peach version, according to Allrecipes.

The Kroger exclusivity has drawn some complaints from fans who do not live near one of the chain's stores.

For Kroger, the exclusive flavor is the latest in a series of limited-time-offer sodas the retailer has used to attract shoppers. Earlier this summer, the chain offered an exclusive Mandarin Orange 7UP flavor, and last summer it carried a 7UP Endless Summer Strawberry Watermelon variety, according to TheStreet. The chain's history of Sprite exclusives also includes Sprite Vanilla Frost, a cookie-flavored variety that Kroger carried for two consecutive holiday seasons.

The Kroger-owned Food 4 Less website describes the product as a "limited-time flavor" and lists a release month of July, suggesting it is available now or imminent.

Kroger CEO Gregory Foran has acknowledged the chain's prices run higher than some rivals and has pledged to make pricing more competitive. Exclusive limited-time products represent one strategy to draw shoppers into stores without competing solely on price. "We do not need to be the lowest-priced retailer. We need to be more competitive, more consistent and easier for customers to understand," Foran said during the company's first-quarter earnings call.
