Wetzel's Pretzels announced the launch of Oreo Bitz, a limited-time cookies-and-cream pretzel bite available at its locations nationwide through Oct. 4.
Vanilla crème, Oreo cookie crumbles, and Mini Oreo cookies are layered on top of the chain's bite-sized Original Bitz, which serve as the base for the new item, the company said. To mark the launch, Wetzel's Rewards members can get $1 off Oreo Bitz through June 7.
"Oreo cookies are one of those flavors that instantly feels fun and nostalgic," Sarah Curtis, Head of Marketing at Wetzel's Pretzels, said in a statement. "We took our hot, fresh Bitz and loaded them up with cookies-and-cream goodness."
Previous seasonal additions to the menu have included Berry Sweet Bitz made with Nutella and Apple $AAPL Cinnamon Bitz, putting the new Oreo option in line with the chain's pattern of sweet limited-time releases, the company said.
The chain got its start in Pasadena, California, in 1994 and has since grown to a network of 500 locations, the company said. The chain has described itself as the nation's leading pretzel franchise.
The Oreo collaboration comes as the cookie brand has been active with co-branded releases. Oreo teamed up with BTS on a limited-edition cookie featuring a hotteok-inspired brown sugar crème, with that product going on presale June 1 and hitting retail shelves June 8 across more than 80 markets worldwide.
