To mark National Hamburger Day on May 28, Burger King has put together a deal through its Royal Perks loyalty program: spend at least $3 at a participating U.S. location and walk away with a free hamburger. Customers must place their order via the BK app or bk.com to redeem the offer.
Bundled with the hamburger promotion is a Spotify $SPOT incentive: Royal Perks members whose order totals $10 or more are eligible to unlock as many as four months of Spotify Premium without paying anything extra, Burger King announced. Email opt-in is a requirement for Royal Perks members to qualify for the Spotify deal. First-time Spotify Premium subscribers get the full four-month benefit, whereas lapsed subscribers qualify for a shorter two-month trial, provided their paid access lapsed over 30 days ago and they haven't taken advantage of a Spotify win-back promotion within the past two years. Once the complimentary period expires, the standard Spotify Premium rate of $12.99 per month applies. The Spotify offer ends June 13, 2026.
Anyone who hasn't yet joined Royal Perks can enroll at no cost through Burger King's website before placing an order.
Taken together, the hamburger giveaway and Spotify partnership reflect a push by Restaurant Brands $QSR International, Burger King's parent company, to steer customers toward the chain's loyalty program as a vehicle for digital ordering and recurring engagement.
In early May, Restaurant Brands International reported strong first-quarter results. Burger King U.S. saw a 5.8% increase in same-store sales, about twice what analysts expected. The company credits this growth to its multi-year "Reclaim the Flame" plan, which includes remodeling restaurants, upgrading kitchen equipment, and investing in advertising. By March 31, 2026, Restaurant Brands had spent $189 million of the planned $550 million for restaurant renovations.
