As of noon today (Jan. 3), when the newest members of Congress are sworn in, the US will have its most diverse congressional representation yet, with 42 new women and 23 new people of color. There are more women serving than ever, and the ethnic, religious, and racial makeup is unparalleled. Among the firsts: the first elected Muslim women representatives and the youngest woman.
