With the One World Observatory set to open to the public Friday, EarthCam has released a time lapse, set against stirring orchestral music, that shows how the newest member of Manhattan’s skyline has risen towards the sky over the last decade.
The two-minute video shows 11 years of construction, from October 2004 to the skyscraper’s completion on Memorial Day 2015. Hundreds of thousands of high definition images were captured and hand-edited for this movie, according to the description on YouTube.
