He bears an unfortunate resemblance to singer Robin Thicke, while the female model’s red lipstick and messy bun make the catalog look as if its designers hoped to emulate the insouciant styling that has made J.Crew’s lookbooks so singularly meme-worthy. This spread, however, is likely destined to make a different kind of social media splash.

“The copy we used in our recent catalog was inappropriate and in poor taste,” a representative from the store told Quartz. “Bloomingdale’s sincerely apologizes for this error in judgment.”
