Researchers from the University of Maryland didn’t teach their robot how to mix a drink and make a salad. It learned those tricks by itself. Instead of programming a robot to perform tasks, the team is working on ”autonomous robots,” as you can see in the video above. These robots have the ability to observe, learn, and eventually make decisions on their own in order to complete tasks. Next up on the team’s to do list: Teaching the robot how to use a dishwasher and microwave.
