The video above captured the mesmerizing movement of different vocal organs in a human body while singing opera. It features renowned opera singer, Michael Volle, who agreed to perform as part of a research project conducted by the Medical Center of the University of Freiburg in Germany. Scientists used magnetic resonance imaging to find out if articulation is dependent on loudness. They discovered that for the vowel /a/, loudness does have an effect on articulation during singing. In other words, they’re using scientific methodology to help singers improve their performances.
