President Barack Obama was asked if he still feels the optimism he expressed in the speech the first introduced him to much of the nation at the 2004 Democratic National Convention, given how divided the country has become. As you can see in the video above, Obama gave his answer in his final campaign speech for Clinton: “I’m still as optimistic as ever about our future. That’s because of you, the American people.” Obama said he’s betting that the American people will reject fear and choose hope.
