Al Fitzpayne is executive director of the Aspen Institute Future of Work Initiative. He previously served as chief of staff at the US Department of Health and Human Services under HHS secretary Sylvia Burwell. He also held a number of senior roles at the US Treasury Department during the Obama administration and was an economic advisor to US senator Evan Bayh and US representative Rahm Emanuel. He has also worked at the White House Office of Management and Budget and at Abt Associates, a public policy consulting firm.
