Austin is the editor in chief of VICE’s gaming website, Waypoint, as well as the host of the actual play podcast Friends at the Table. Before his career as a critic, journalist, and podcaster, he studied the intersection of play and labor at Calarts and the University of Western Ontario, where he was a Research Associate in the Digital Labour Group.
