Avi Friedman is a professor at the McGill School of Architecture in Montreal, Canada where he directs the Affordable Homes Research Group, and an honorary professor in Lancaster University in the UK. He is also the principal of Avi Friedman Consultants Inc., author of 18 books, and recipient of numerous awards including the Progressive Architecture Research Award, World Habitat Award, the Sustainable Buildings Lifetime Achievement Award, and the J.-Armand-Bombardier Prize for Technological Innovation.
