Christina Stembel dreamed up the idea for Farmgirl Flowers in 2010, quit her job at Stanford University, and launched the flower delivery service from her dining room in San Francisco, which continued to house the company (and her very understanding fiancé) for two years. Christina built Farmgirl Flowers from less than $50k of self funding into a company that employs more than 100 people and generates more than $30 million in annual revenue.
