Desmond was born in St. Thomas, Jamaica and is the founder and executive editor of the Caribbean News Service, an online news portal. He served as head of corporate communications with the regional airline LIAT (1974) limited from January 2009 to May 2016. Desmond is a freelance writer and has worked for several major radio and television stations in the Caribbean.
