Lise Abrams is a professor and chair of the department of psychology at the University of Florida. As an undergraduate at Pomona College, Dr. Abrams double-majored in psychology and mathematics and earned her Ph.D. in cognitive psychology from the University of California. She came to the University of Florida in 1997, where she established the Cognition and Aging Laboratory to investigate memory and language abilities in younger and older adults. Her research has been supported by the National Institute on Aging and the National Institute of Mental Health, and has been recognized by Sigma Xi, the Scientific Research Society, who awarded her the 2007 Young Investigator Award. She is a Fellow of the American Psychological Association, the Gerontological Society of America, and the Psychonomic Society.
