Ester has a unique perspective on leadership in the pharmaceuticals industry, drawing on her 30 years in the sector as well as early experiences as a professional soccer player in her native Spain. At Bristol Myers Squibb she manages more than 2,000 people across 70 diverse markets, from Greece to Brazil to Saudi Arabia. Her team achieved double-digit growth in 2019, along with 15 awards across the different countries she leads for promoting workforce diversity and equality. As a gay woman with a story to tell about coming out in the workplace, as a mother of two, and as a strategic leader, Ester is a role model for many in her industry. She was named Healthcare Champion for Women at the Women of Excellence Awards presented by Working Mother magazine and was in the Medical, Marketing and Media (MM&M) Hall of Femme 2020.
