Felicia Bevel is a PhD candidate in the department of American Studies at Brown University. Her research and teaching interests include critical race theory, 20th century cultural history, southern studies, transnational studies, and childhood studies. Her dissertation, titled "Exporting Whiteness: Race, Nation, and Nostalgia in the Age of Empire," examines early 20th century cultural productions that romanticized the Old South and circulated outside the U.S. within the larger Anglophone world.
