Gabe Varela began his career as a biochemist, when he worked for a drug discovery company after college. When he was tasked with managing mountains of data, he began programming his way out of the job. Prior to CirrusMD, Gabe ran an agile software development consultancy, Mode Set, where he and his team built the original minimum viable product for CirrusMD. Over the course of more than a decade of experience, Gabe has grown and led many engineering teams. He provides expertise and leadership in agile- and test-driven development, technical architecture, performance optimization and scaling, and infrastructure development.
