Jennifer Butte-Dahl directs the Master of Arts in Applied International Studies at the University of Washington in Seattle. A former State Department official, she returned this week from the island of Lesbos, Greece where she was serving as a volunteer Response Team member for ShelterBox, a UK-based international disaster relief organization.
