Johan is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Economics at Stellenbosch University, teaching undergraduate and graduate classes in Economic History. He obtained his PhD at Utrecht University in 2012. He is also the editor of Economic History of Developing Regions and coordinator of LEAP.
