John J. Lennon has served fourteen years of a twenty-eight years to life sentence. His work has appeared in The Atlantic, The New York Times, The Marshall Project, and the Albany Times Union (recently for a second time) and he has a forthcoming piece in the University of Virginia’s Hedgehog Review. He was a finalist for the 2015 Richard J. Margolis Award.
