La'Nita Johnson is a recent MA graduate from the American University in Washington, D.C. A survivor of terrorism, La’Nita works to educate people about countering violent extremism and the importance of mental health. Through speaking engagements and her blog, "PTSD Out Loud," La’Nita discusses the realities of surviving trauma and the importance of anti-terrorism education. She plans to further pursue this goal when she joins USAID’s Foreign Service this fall as an education officer.
