Lauren Gurley grew up just north of L.A., but moved east to study Comparative Literature at the University of Chicago. After graduating this year, she moved east yet again to pursue a career in political and cultural journalism. She is currently at editorial intern at The American Prospect in Washington DC. In the past, she has written for the Santa Barbara Independent and the South Side Weekly.
