Manju Kapur taught English literature in Miranda House for over 25 years. Her novel Difficult Daughters won the Commonwealth Prize for best first novel, Eurasia region in 1998. She is also the author of A Married Woman (2002), Home (2006) [shortlisted for the Hutch-Crossword Prize], and The Immigrant (2008) [shortlisted for the India Plaza Golden Quill Award and the DSC Prize of South Asian Literature]. Her work has been translated into German, Portuguese, Italian, Spanish, Dutch, Hebrew, Marathi and Hindi.
