Carl Alviani
Carl Alviani is a designer turned educator and writer with a deep interest in demystifying the design process and explaining the secret ways it impacts everyday life. Along with Quartz, he's written on these topics for Wired, Fast Company, Forbes, Harvard Business Review, and Gizmodo. He also works with creative agencies (Ziba, Smart), major corporations (Intel, Microsoft), and schools (CIID, PNCA) to help them tell their stories and spread the gospel of thoughtful, user-centered design. He studied Industrial Design at the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, and kicked off his writing career as a blogger and editor at design website Core77. He lives in Portland and rides his bike everywhere.
