Tim Marshall has served as the provost and chief academic officer of The New School since 2009. Previously, Tim served as dean of Parsons School of Design, where he developed an ambitious and comprehensive academic plan that presented an integrated suite of undergraduate and graduate design degrees. From 1994 to 2004, Tim held a number of academic leadership positions at the University of Western Sydney in Australia, including chair of the School of Design and director of academic and international programs. He has also served as a consultant to academic institutions in Australia, Germany, Hong Kong, China, and Singapore, and has been a visiting critic at the Köln International School of Design (KISD) and guest professor at the China National Academy of the Arts (CNAFA), Shanghai Institute of Design.
