Dr. Rachel Harris is a Reader in Ethnomusicology and a research coordinator at the SOAS China Institute. Her research centres on the region of Xinjiang, and especially on the music of the Muslim Central Asian Uyghurs, but also encompasses broader perspectives on Chinese music, including an edited volume on gender in Chinese music.
