Russell Jeung, Ph.D. is a Professor of Asian American Studies at San Francisco State University. He is the author of several books on race and religion including Family Sacrifices: The Worldviews and Ethics of Chinese Americans and Mountain Movers: Student Activism and the Emergence of Asian American Studies. Jeung identifies as a fifth-generation Chinese American, and was born and raised in San Francisco. In March 2020, Russell co-founded Stop AAPI Hate, the nation's leading coalition addressing anti-Asian racism and xenophobia.
