Seth Shostak
Seth Shostak is senior astronomer at the SETI Institute in Mountain View, California. With degrees in physics and astronomy from Princeton University and Caltech, he has a long history of research in radio astronomy and, since 1991, in the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence, or SETI.He is a frequent guest and commentator on radio and television, and is the chair of the International Academy of Astronautics SETI Permanent Study Group.In addition to his research, Seth has written approximately 300 popular articles on science and technology, hosts the SETI Institute’s weekly science radio show “Are We Alone?”, and is the author, most recently, of “Confessions of an Alien Hunter: A Scientist’s Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence” from National Geographic, and a textbook on astrobiology, “Life in the Universe”, published by Addison-Wesley.
