Shelagh Huston
Drawing on her twin passions for spirituality and community, Shelagh Huston is currently writing a book on how to choose a wisdom that works. A west coast Salish Sea islander since the back-to-the-land 1960s, Shelagh's wide-ranging experiences include founding an island preschool in the 1970s, spearheading a successful defense of the Islands Trust in the 1980s, determining the economic value of ecological resources as a consulting economist in Africa in the 1990s, catalyzing the founding of the Gabriola Commons in the 2000s, and serving as an Anglican deacon in the 2010s. Her life experiences have convinced her that sustaining deep community is vital for earth’s future.
