As co-founder and CEO of Actuate (formerly Aegis AI), Sonny Tai works to fulfill the company's mission to address America’s gun violence epidemic by enabling existing security camera systems to automatically recognize firearms and other public safety threats. A Marine Corps veteran and a social entrepreneur, Sonny co-founded Aegis AI based on a dream to better society. He spent his most formative years in South Africa at a time when gun violence was rampant, and the mission to contribute to a safer, more secure world has been with him since childhood.
