SKS Copack is recalling various specialty beverage powders and mixes sold across 25 states after a supplier alerted the company to potential salmonella contamination in a dry milk powder ingredient, the FDA said.
Eighteen products are subject to the action, spanning five labels — Angel Specialty Products, Royal Gold, Boba Time, Fanale, and Denda — with items ranging from matcha green tea and taro powder to milk tea mixes, cappuccino and latte powders, horchata, and coconut powder. According to SKS Copack, distribution reached cafes, restaurants, and direct-delivery customers across California, Utah, Idaho, New York, New Jersey, Arizona, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Texas, Ohio, Louisiana, Georgia, Florida, Illinois, Oklahoma, Massachusetts, Washington state, Oregon, Wisconsin, Nevada, Virginia, Connecticut, Tennessee, Kentucky, and Minnesota. No illnesses have been reported.
SKS Copack, based in Cerritos, California, said the recall was triggered after its supplier notified the company of a voluntary recall by California Dairies, Inc. covering a specific lot of low-heat nonfat dry milk powder that tested positive for salmonella. In response, the company pulled the implicated ingredient from its inventory and halted shipments of any products made with it. The company is cooperating with the FDA as the investigation continues.
Affected products can be identified by lot codes printed on their packaging. Anyone who bought a product covered by this recall can bring it back to the retailer or distributor where it was purchased to receive a full refund. The SKS Copack recall is one of several tied to the California Dairies milk powder contamination, which has prompted a cascade of brand-level actions across the food industry. California Dairies first recalled its bulk powdered milk and buttermilk on April 20, 2026, after routine product testing identified positive salmonella results. Companies that had used the ingredient in finished products subsequently issued their own recalls, covering a range of snack foods and beverage mixes. Among the earlier recalls linked to the same contamination were Ghirardelli powdered drink mixes, Zapp's and Dirty brand potato chips from Utz Quality Foods, snack mixes from John B. Sanfilippo & Son sold under the Fisher, Southern Style Nuts, Squirrel Brand, and Good & Gather labels, and Pork King Good pork rinds and seasoning.
Infection with salmonella typically presents as a gastrointestinal illness marked by fever, stomach cramps, diarrhea, and vomiting, the FDA notes. In rare cases, the infection can enter the bloodstream and lead to more severe conditions. The populations most vulnerable to severe outcomes include the very young, older adults, and people whose immune systems are compromised.
