Only months after McDonald’s extended all-day breakfast to US customers—arguably breathing new life into the Golden Arches—it is experimenting with something new: all-you-can-eat fries.
French fry nirvana will at first be available only in St. Joseph, Missouri, where a local franchisee is set to open in July 2016 what he’s dubbing the “McDonald’s of the Future,” according to the St. Joseph News-Press. The outlet is expected to cost about $1.59 million, and include “larger-than-life” ordering kiosks that let people customize their sandwiches and order unlimited fries. The children’s playroom will include table-top video games, and the unit will have a private party room.
The idea is making the rounds across social media:
The big question: Will unlimited fries move from a side dish to a main meal? When all-day breakfast became a reality, the Egg McMuffin transformed from a main meal into a side item.
