When McDonald’s began offering all-day breakfast, it gave consumers the choice of having breakfast for lunch or dinner. But that’s not what they wanted.
Turns out, people want breakfast with their lunch and dinner. At least that’s what McDonald’s is finding after it introduced all-day breakfast late last year.
“Believe it or not, you may find some people order a lunch entree and ordering a Egg McMuffin sandwich as an add-on,” said Kevin Ozan, McDonald’s chief financial officer in a Tuesday conference hosted by Bank of America.
That’s right. The Egg McMuffin appears to have transcended breakfast to take a de facto seat on McDonald’s side item menu. That’s no bother for McDonald’s, which saw major growth in its last quarter after introducing all-day breakfast.
