Chi-An is the summer intern of the Things desk in the New York office. He is currently pursuing a dual degree of master of journalism and master of computer science at Columbia University. He worked as a data engineer in the New Media Lab of United Daily News in Taiwan, focusing on data-driven stories. He is interested in developing open-source software for newsrooms and enriching stories with data and visualizations. Chi-An is especially obsessed with discovering how technology can change journalism. He has been playing drums for seven years, and he loves it. He is also a volleyball addict.
