Before Quartz, she spent eight years at the Wall Street Journal, covering everything from the economy to natural disasters to Texas quirks such as suburban feral pigs. She’s also written about the ups and downs of oil prices and European interest rates. She was a fellow at Harvard's Nieman Foundation for Journalism in 2020.
